Please note: Currently my practice of 20 clients is full, my books are closed. When a spot opens, I prioritize those on my waitlist first.
If you are interested in working with me, I recommend you join my wait list. I do not use this list for marketing. After you join, I’ll reach out to schedule a meet and greet call to assess fit and then I can let you know when I can offer you a spot.
I’m a former founder who coaches founding teams, executives, and venture capital investors.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in software engineering from Virginia Tech and I’ve been building companies ever since. Going through the second class of Techstars in 2008, I have been immersed in the world of venture capital backed companies for 17 years. My second company sold to Blue Bottle Coffee and led to my executive experience expanding from venture backed software companies to brick and mortar food and beverage. I’ve led companies at the founding stages and been in leadership teams responsible for upwards of 400 employees.
My identity plays no small part in my coaching, and I believe a leader’s identity has a big part to play in their leadership. I coach from the belief that our deeply personal inner work is our leadership foundation.
After building companies in San Francisco and Los Angeles, I coach and live with my family in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina, traveling frequently to NYC, Los Angeles and the Bay Area.

Effective leaders are hungry to grow.
I work with those who are tired of avoiding hard questions.
I help you become more aware so you can find more opportunity.
I am deeply curious about how you relate to your company, the people in it and your mental model for the road ahead.
I start by making sure I understand how you think about the following questions:
- How do you feel about each part of your business?
- How do those around you feel about your leadership?
- What are your biggest challenges?
- What part of your psychology is holding you back?

I help you design a future for your leadership that honors who you really are.
Coaching loves a focus. And that focus has weight when it’s about becoming the human you know you can be. Beyond the LinkedIn profile, the networking events, the masks you wear: who are you being called to become?
I believe that each of us has a purpose we are seeking in our work. The closer we are to finding that purpose, the easier value is unlocked. And when we’ve found our purpose, our life and work flow in deep alignment. This place of alignment is where we build big things.
Common Themes
The following are common themes I see in my work with founders, leaders and investors:
What clients say.
I’ve become confident in myself, my ability to lead the company, and my ability to see my vision for the company become reality. I no longer second-guess myself on most decisions and am much more confident having hard conversations and taking action quickly, which were things I struggled with before working with Virginia.

V was incredibly helpful as I navigated a turbulent and chaotic work environment and, perhaps more importantly, was incredibly generous when I ultimately left that job. What I really appreciated was the way V was able to both take very seriously the emotions that came up around interpersonal working styles and also the tools she provided to move through the situations successfully and with integrity. Not many people are able to walk that line of caring about emotions while also getting shit done and V embodies that fully. I am not sure if I should say this about a coach who helped me with work, BUT I am most proud of the way I have changed my relationship to my work. Specifically, that I was ultimately able to get rid of the toxic ways that I measured my value due to external work product and am much happier as a result.

Everyone needs someone like Virginia in their corner. I have been incredibly blessed and honored to work with Virginia as my coach. She has held me up and given me tools to walk forward when I couldn’t pick myself up. Because of our coaching relationship, I feel more confident in myself. I have a deeper appreciation for investigating and dissecting hard situations in life. Because of our coaching, I believe that with the right support, humans can accomplish anything, manage pain, and find contentment.

I’m most proud of building a high performance team without having to be someone I’m not. We explored who I am, and used that to craft a unique style of leadership that led to high performance and high morale. Virginia helped me build the skillsets required to move from engineer to CTO. I’m a lot more confident in myself. I now believe that I’m capable of having the difficult conversations. Virginia has actually done all of this stuff herself before. It’s not coming from a manual, it’s coming from someone who has walked in your shoes before.

V is an awesome coach to work with, who is flexible to either come with an agenda or work with yours. She also does a great job providing materials and references where appropriate, which I have used in my work and shared with others. I also really appreciated and benefitted from having a safe environment where I could feel heard, while being challenged to grow and become a better communicator.
